Men’s Basketball
Led by second-year head coach Joe Jones, the Boston University men’s basketball team enters the 2012-13 season seeking its third postseason berth in the last four years. The Terriers return three starters, including Preseason All-Conference honoree D.J. Irving who led the league last season in assists at 5.4 apg.

Led by ninth-year head coach Kelly Greenberg, the Boston University women’s basketball team returns 10 letterwinners, including three starters from last year’s 23-9 squad that advanced to the first round of the WNIT. The Terriers will host a combined six non-conference opponents in November and December.

New Conference Affiliation
This past summer, Boston University formally accepted an invitation to move 20 of its 25 teams to the Patriot League on July 1, 2013 for the 2013-14 season. Formed as an all-sport conference in 1990-91, the league features American, Army, Bucknell, Colgate, Holy Cross, Lafayette, Lehigh and Navy .

Seventy-six Terriers Named to Fall 2011 America East Academic Honor Roll

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - A total of 76 Boston University student-athletes from five teams that compete during the fall were named to the America East Conference's Fall Academic Honor Roll, the conference office announced Thursday, January 26. To earn Academic Honor Roll status, a student had to earn a grade point average of 3.0 or above for the 2010 fall semester. To earn placement on the Commissioner's Honor Roll, the student-athlete's grade point average for that semester needed to be at least 3.5.There were 25 Terriers that earned a place on the Commissioner's Honor Roll. The BU women's soccer team led the way with 21 members earning Academic Honor Roll placement. Women's cross country had 15 while men's cross country and field hockey each had 14 and men's soccer had 12. Women's soccer also placed nine members on the Commissioner's Honor Roll, along with eight from women's cross country, three each from men's cross country and field hockey and two from men's soccer. America East is proud to have one of the most comprehensive academic awards programs in the country. In addition to the honor roll, an All-Academic team comprised of student-athletes that excel both academically and athletically is chosen in each of the conference's 20 sports by a committee consisting of faculty athletic representatives, academic advisors and sports information directors. Additionally, a scholar-athlete, someone who distinguishes his/herself as the top student-athlete in his/her sport, is awarded. From that group, one male and one female is selected the America East Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Finally, the Academic Cup is awarded to the school with the highest cumulative GPA among its student-athletes for that academic year.
