The Boston University men's lacrosse team will make its Patriot League debut on Saturday when the Terriers host No. 14/15 Lehigh at Nickerson Field. Opening faceoff is set for 1 p.m.

BU (0-2) will look to hand Lehigh (3-0) its first loss of the season. This will be the second home game of the season for the Terriers after they hosted Canisius in a hard-fought game on Saturday. The Mountain Hawks will be the first-ever ranked team that BU will face.

The Terriers' defense improved markedly on Saturday, as they allowed just nine goals. Freshman goaltender Christian Carson-Banister made a season-high 14 saves and BU caused 18 of Canisius' 25 turnovers. Sophomore Alex Paroda and freshman Cal Dearth were each responsible for three of those turnovers.

Dearth was one of the Terriers' best players on Saturday. In addition to causing three turnovers, he collected a team-high four ground balls and scored his second goal of the season. He and Pat Myers are each tied for the team lead with two goals while seven different players have scored this season.

Lehigh enters Saturday having needed three overtimes to defeat No. 20 Villanova, 7-6. Sophomore Reid Weber and junior Dan Taylor each lead the Mountain Hawks with eight points (5g, 3a). Junior Patrick Corbett's seven goals is tops on the team with Weber and Taylor next best at five goals each. Junior goalkeeper Matt Poillon has earned all three of Lehigh's wins this year thanks to a 5.73 goals-against average and a .600 save percentage.

Following Saturday's showdown, BU will head to Rhode Island to face Providence on Tuesday (Feb. 25). Game time is set for 4 p.m.
