After earning a shutout in his first home start, freshman goaltender Sean Maguire has been named the Pro Ambitions Hockey East Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday.

BU moved up one spot to ninth in both national polls in advance of this weekend's home-and-home series with archrival and top-ranked Boston College. Both games will be televised live by the NBC Sports Network.

Maguire stopped all 21 shots he faced to lead the Terriers to a 4-0 victory against St. Lawrence on Saturday at Agganis. He became the first BU goaltender in 12 years to record a shutout in his first home start, as Sean Fields achieved the feat back in 2000.

Maguire has won his past two starts and now boasts a 2.56 goals-against average and a .910 save percentage. He is the third Terrier to earn league Rookie of the Week honors this season, joining Matt Grzelcyk and Matt O'Connor.
