BOSTON - Highlighted by tournaments in Chicago and St. Louis and a pair of home contests against archrival Boston College, the 2010-11 Boston University men's ice hockey schedule has been announced by head coach Jack Parker. In all, the Terriers will play at Agganis Arena on 18 dates, including two exhibitions and non-conference games against Brown and Harvard.

After an exhibition against the University of Toronto on Oct. 2, BU will officially open its season the following weekend in St. Louis at the Ice Breaker Tournament. The Terriers, who are making their second appearance in three years at the premier season-opening tournament, will face 2010 NCAA runner-up Wisconsin on Oct. 8 before taking on Notre Dame or Holy Cross on Oct. 10.

The Terriers may also face Notre Dame when they ring in the new year at the Fighting Irish's Shillelagh Tournament in Hoffman Estates, Ill. BU is matched up with Minnesota State in the first game of the weekend on New Year's Day and will play either Brown or the host Irish on Jan. 2.

The remainder of the Terriers' non-conference slate will feature three games against ECACHL schools, including home contests against Brown (Nov. 27) and Harvard (Jan. 14) and a trip to Rensselaer on Dec. 11 that closes out the first half of the schedule. Harvard and RPI have been regular opponents of the Terriers for years, while Brown and BU will be meeting for the first time since the 1997-98 campaign.

Beginning with a home-and-home weekend on Dec. 3-4 that starts off at Agganis, BU has four scheduled dates against Boston College. The Eagles will also visit BU on Jan. 21 to close out the teams' Hockey East series before the rivals meet in the first round of the 59th Beanpot on Feb. 7.

BU will also host UMass Lowell (Oct. 30, Feb. 4), Northeastern (Dec. 8, March 5), Providence (Oct. 23, Feb. 18) and Vermont (Feb. 25-26) twice each over the course of conference play.

"In addition to our always-tough Hockey East schedule, we're certainly looking forward to our continued rivalries with ECAC teams and playing some western schools in the Ice Breaker and Shillelagh tournaments," said Parker, who is entering his 38th season at the helm of the Terrier program.

After the Ice Breaker, the Terriers will play 10 consecutive Hockey East contests, beginning with their home opener versus Massachusetts on Oct. 16. Maine (Nov. 6), Merrimack (Nov. 12) and New Hampshire (Nov. 20) will all make their lone visit to Agganis during the stretch.

In between the run of league games, BU will host its second exhibition of the year when Sweden's Under-20 National Team visits Boston on Nov. 3.

All game dates and times are subject to change, as accommodations for broadcasts will be made when the team's television schedule is announced. Please check for all updates and changes.
