BOSTON - Senior Kieran Millan earned the George V. Brown Most Valuable Player Award for the second consecutive season and junior Wade Megan was named team captain for the 2012-13 campaign, as announced at the 49th annual Friends of Boston University Hockey Banquet, held on Saturday evening at the George Sherman Union.

Megan and sophomore Patrick MacGregor shared this year's Most Improved Player Award, senior captain Chris Connolly was the recipient of the Bennett McInnis Award for Spirit and sophomores Matt Nieto and Garrett Noonan were co-recipients of the Friends Albert Sidd Unsung Hero Award.

Junior Alex Chiasson received the Ed Carpenter Award, given to the team's leading scorer, for the second time in as many years. Junior Sean Escobedo was the winner of the Clifford P Fitzgerald Scholarship, given annually to an outstanding upperclassman defenseman. Receiving the Regina Eilberg Scholarship (top scholar-athlete) for the third straight year was senior Ryan Ruikka, as the defenseman will return to the Terriers for a fifth year next season.

Millan is the first Terrier to earn back-to-back team MVP honors outright since fellow goaltender Sean Fields in 2003 and 2004.

Megan, a native of Canton, N.Y., scored a team-high 20 goals this past season as a junior after tallying 13 in his first two years combined with the Terriers. He will be the 116th captain in the program's history.
