BOSTON - Sophomore defenseman Adam Clendening and senior forward Chris Connolly received All-New England honors on Tuesday, as Clendening was named a Division I All-Star and Connolly was selected as the region's Best Defensive Forward.

The New England Hockey Writers Division I All-Star teams and awards are voted on annually by all Division I coaches and media outlets from across the six states. This year's banquet will be held on Tuesday, April 10, at the Prince Restaurant in Saugus, Mass.

Clendening was one of two sophomores selected to the 12-player All-Star squad, joining UMass Lowell goaltender Doug Carr. A Hockey East First Team All-Star, Clendening ranked tied for first among league defensemen in points this season with 33 on four goals and 29 assists. Nationally, Clendening ranked eighth among blueliners in points per game (0.87).

Connolly, who was a Hockey East Second Team All-Star and the league's Best Defensive Forward, was one of six players to receive a New England award this season. The first two-year captain at BU in over 30 years, Connolly tallied a career-high 40 points (8g, 31a) this season to finish 36th on BU's career points list with 129 (39g, 90a).
