BOSTON - The No. 13 Boston University men's crew will send five boats to the 67th annual EARC Sprints Championships on Sunday at Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Mass. The Terriers will look to build on last year's performance in which they were only one of three programs to have the freshman eight and varsity eight crews reach the Grand Final.

The racing will start at approximately 8:12 a.m. with the freshman four boat racing against MIT, Rutgers, Holy Cross, Harvard and Yale in the Grand Final.

The morning heats for the Terriers will begin at 8:48 a.m. with BU's third varsity eight boat facing Harvard, Wisconsin and Princeton.

In the third event at 9:36 a.m., the freshman eight boat will face Harvard, Princeton, Columbia, Pennsylvania and Holy Cross. The Terriers topped the Lions by 7.2 seconds back on April 21. They have reached the last two Grand Finals, highlighted by a fourth-place finish in 2010.

Racing at 11 a.m., the second varsity eight boat will face Cornell, Princeton, Northeastern, Georgetown and Rutgers. The Terriers will try to duplicate the success of the 2009 boat in which BU won a bronze medal. Earlier in the season, BU lost to the Huskies by 7.7 seconds and defeated the Scarlet Knights by 21 seconds.

The varsity eight boat will face a tough task in trying to reach the Grand Final, as the Terriers will race No. 5 Navy, No. 6 Wisconsin, No. 12 Yale, No. 18 George Washington and Holy Cross. In their last race of the dual season, BU lost to the Badgers by 0.6 seconds.
