Incoming Boston University men's basketball recruit Nathan Dieudonne will join the Boston University men's basketball team as the the top high school basketball player from the state of Kentucky.

After guiding Trinity High School to its first state basketball title this past season, Dieudonne was named Gatorade Player of the Year for the state of Kentucky. He becomes the first incoming freshman with such a honor to join the program since Carlos Strong ('10) won the award in the state of Maine back in 2006.

Adding to his trophy case, Dieudonne was also chosen as Kentucky's Mr. Basketball, becoming the first player from a private school in 50 years to receive the award. Voting by the state's coaches determined five finalists for Mr. Basketball with a group of media and former honorees selecting the winner.

A 6-foot-7, 210-pound forward, Dieudonne was named MVP of the state tournament's Sweet 16 after collecting 70 points and 33 rebounds in the four games for the Shamrocks. He had 12 points, 12 rebounds and two blocked shots against Scott County in the final to finish the season at 14.0 ppg, 6.7 rpg, 1.4 spg and 1.3 apg.
