CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - For the second time this season, Boston University men's basketball freshman Maurice Watson Jr. has been named America East Rookie of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.

The 5-foot-10 point guard out of Philadelphia had a pair of impressive performances to help the Terriers earn wins over Albany (85-80 OT) and UMBC (81-75). Facing the Great Danes, he tied his personal best with 21 points and seven assists against just two turnovers.

Earning his first award since Dec. 3, he followed up against the Retrievers with 10 points, six assists and four rebounds while recording only one turnover. The Terriers were only ahead by one (64-63) at 3:30 when he drained a critical 3-pointer to help BU pull away for its third straight victory.

Averaging 10.6 ppg on the season, Watson currently ranks second in the conference for assists at 4.8 apg and is also seventh in field goal shooting percentage (.469). He along with the rest of the Terriers will next take to the court on Saturday (Feb. 2) at Hartford with tip-off set for 7 p.m.
