BOSTON - The Boston University men's basketball team travels to Stony Brook on Saturday, Jan. 19 to play the Seawolves at 2 p.m. at the Sports Complex. The Terriers and SBU have matching 4-12, 1-3 America East records and are both looking to stop two-game slides.

Boston U leads the all-times series, 10-3, and has won five of the last six games with the Seawolves. The series dates back to 2001-02 when SBU joined the America East. Just one game has gone into overtime, with Stony Brook pulling out a six-point win, 68-62, last season.

Stony Brook began 2007-08 by losing its first six games. The Seawolves then picked up wins over Dartmouth, NJIT and Hofstra but have lost five of their last six contests. Ricky Lucas leads SBU with 12.8 ppg. Mitchell Beauford is the other Seawolf in double figures, with 10.7 ppg. Demetrius Young leads Stony Brook in rebounding, averaging 8.3 boards per game.

Sophomore guard Corey Lowe (Newton, Mass.) is BU's leading scorer with 18.6 points per game. He is ranked 13th in the nation in made 3-pointers per game (3.7). Classmates Carlos Strong (Portland, Maine) is the other two Terrier in double figures, with 12.7 ppg, Freshman forward John Holland (Bronx, N.Y.) has picked up his play as of late, posting his first career double-double against Hartford (11-12) on Jan. 12 and then tallying a career-high 19 points in the loss to Albany last Wednesday.

Last time out for BU, the Terriers fell just short against Albany, 70-63, on Wednesday in Case Gym. Lowe led the Terriers with 20 points, and Holland turned in his career-high 19 points on 6-for-14 shooting. Albany's Brian Lillis had a double-double of 27 points and 12 rebounds. BU fell into an early hole, missing its first five shots. The Terriers played catch-up for most of the first half but gathered momentum at the end of the frame. BU hung tough with UA and won the second-period battle but ultimately fell short.

The Terriers return home to play a pair of games next week, against UMBC on Jan. 22 at 7 p.m. in Case Gym and Vermont on Jan. 25 in Agganis Arena on ESPNU at 9 p.m.
