On Sunday, May 4th the Boston University Department of Athletics will once again host the Massachusetts Special Olympics North Section Aquatics State Games Qualifier at Competition Pool. The event, organized by the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, will feature over 400 athletes from different swim teams across the region.

Climb American

ClimbAmerica is a special fundraising event produced by ClimbCorps, a program of Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. Participants will climb the city's tallest buildings to support the fight against heart disease and help improve America's health, one step at a time. Boston University student-athletes read to Boston Public Schools to school children. In conjunction with BU's Government and Community Affairs Department, the athletes read to elementary school children and then presented each student with a book purchased by Boston University. Elementary students were also be presented with BU Athletics posters and vouchers for tickets to BU athletics events.

Greater Boston Walk Now for Autism Suffolk Downs, East Boston

The men's and women's hockey teams will arrive at Suffolk Downs in the morning and help set up for registering, direct walkers and cheer participants on during the day of the event. The community service outreach project is organized by BU men's and women's hockey team.

Run for Hope for pediatric cancer research

The Four Seasons Hotel Boston will be hosting the annual Run of Hope, a 5K Run and 2K Walk, to raise funds - and awareness - for pediatric cancer research at Massachusetts General Hospital.

Special Olympics and Autism Speaks Sports Clinic

As part of Boston University's participation in Global Day of Service, BU's Athletic Department will host a Special Olympics and Autism Speaks Sports Clinic on Sunday, April 21, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at BU's Case Gym. The sports clinic will allow young athletes to spend the afternoon participating in sports activities and be mentored by collegiate student-athletes.

This event is FREE and OPEN TO KIDS OF ALL ABILITY LEVELS ages 8+. Pre-registration is required.

Women's Lacrosse Breast Cancer Awareness Game

BU Women's Lacrosse annual breast cancer awareness game at Nickerson Field with raffles including BU gear, gift certificates, and more. Proceeds will be donated to the Susan G. Komen for the cure. There will be a pregame tailgate when gates open at 6 p.m. with free food and drinks and the first 300 fans will receive a free BU Lacrosse stadium cup.
