Jason Strong was named the director of compliance for the Boston University Department of Athletics in July 2010. In his current position, Strong is responsible for educating, monitoring and enforcing NCAA rule compliance for department staff members, administrators and student-athletes.
Strong certifies and monitors initial and continuing eligibility for more than 500 student-athletes and acts as the athletics liaison with numerous departments on campus, including the Office of Admissions, the Office of Financial Assistance and the Office of Student Accounting Services. He oversees all aspects of the administration of sports camps and clinics for the department, and plays a leading role in working with the NCAA and the department's conference offices in rules education and compliance matters.
He comes to Boston University after spending the 2009-10 academic year at Cal State Bakersfield, where he worked in the compliance office and guided the school in its transition from Division II to Division I.
He earned his Bachelor of Science in sports management from Washington State in 2006 and following graduation worked for a year at his alma mater in the compliance office. In 2009, Strong earned his master's in education at UC Berkley and went on to work in the compliance office as a graduate assistant.
A native of Boise, Idaho, Strong currently resides in Boston.
