Patrick Lawlor joined the Boston University Department of Athletics in November 2011 as senior communications specialist. In his role, Pat is responsible for BU Athletics' community outreach plan to increase goodwill by coaches, student-athletes and administration in the local area, as well as increase visibility of these initiatives. He also develops and maintains media relationships in the Boston market and national media and writes feature stories for GoTerriers.com and other media outlets to tell the BU Athletics' story.

Prior to joining BU, Pat worked as the research director at The Boston Business Journal for 12 years. While at the BBJ, Pat was responsible for overseeing the newspaper's research department which analyzed and collected financial information on businesses to be published in the Journal. In this role he also oversaw the annual Book of Lists project which included researching, analyzing, editing, proofreading and data management of over 3,000 companies' financial statistics. During Pat's oversight, the book sold over $1 million dollars in advertising in a single year.

Pat has also served as a contributing reporter to numerous publications over the years including Street & Smith's Sports Business Journal and the New England Hockey Journal. Pat was born and raised in Dorchester Mass. and is a graduate of UMass Amherst where he earned a BA in English.
