As a strength and conditioning coach at Boston University, Darcy Kellam utilizes the latest training techniques to improve the size, strength, quickness and speed of varsity athletes.

Kellam came to BU in the summer of 2004 from California State University Sacramento, where she was the head strength coach. At CSUS, Kellam worked with men's and women's basketball and soccer, as well as baseball, softball, volleyball, women's rowing, women's gymnastic and track. In this role she worked closely with athletes, devising personalized sport specific programs with an emphasis on injury prevention and increases in strength and power. She was also responsible for rehabilitating injured athletes.

Kellam has also worked as a private sport specific training coach and an off-season coach with the CSUS and the San Francisco State University women's basketball programs. Along with her collegiate coaching experience she has extensive experience coaching youth basketball.

An accomplished collegiate athlete and weightlifter herself, Kellam played basketball for SFSU where she was the captain from 1999-2001. She was a member of Team Sacramento Weightlifting and competed at the American Open Tournament in 2003 and the U.S. Nationals Tournament in 2004. Kellam is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist by the National Strength and Conditioning Association as well as a certified USA Weightlifting club coach.

Kellam earned a bachelor`s degree in kinesiology with an emphasis in exercise science from SFSU in 2003. She is currently finishing a master's degree in kinesiology and sports performance with an emphasis in strength and conditioning at CSUS.

A native of Sacramento, Kellam currently resides in Somerville, Mass.
