In this roll, he oversees the fundraising efforts, stewardship, website, and marketing strategies for the department's annual giving program--which features over 70 designations and generated nearly $1 million from over 3,000 donor last season. He is also responsible for managing, cultivating, and soliciting a portfolio of 150 leadership donors, board members, and volunteers. In addition to his development responsibilities, Factor also chairs the Athletic Department's Marketing and Community Relations Strategic Planning Committee.
Under Factor's leadership, the Terriers haves have consistently increased fundraising revenue, alumni donors, and current student-athlete participation. He has also implemented several new fundraising initiatives including multimedia television/radio campaigns, a new athletic development website, and--most notably--the Varsity Alumni Challenge. The Varsity Alumni Challenge, the first department-wide fundraising competition, awarded a $10,000 prize to the team with the highest alumni participation rate. The three month competition generated over 1,000 new donors and increased department's previous record participation rate by 13.28 percentage points.
In addition to his collegiate experience, he has worked for a variety of professional sports organizations including the Boston Bruins' Community Relations & Marketing Department, the New Jersey Jackals' marketing and promotions team, and the Boston Red Sox's Foundation. Additionally, he has worked with the advertising firm MBS/Vox of Ogilvy CommonHealth Worldwide (a WPP Company).
Factor graduated in 2004 from Boston University's College of Communication, where he majored in advertising and mass communications. While attending BU, he played four years on the baseball team as a second and third baseman. He also worked for the Athletic Department assisting with in-game promotions, premium ticket sales, development, and alumni relations.
Originally from San Diego, Calif., and later Long Valley, N.J., Factor now resides in Brighton, Mass.
