Director, Athletic Facilities


Tim Cavanaugh was named director of athletic facilities for Boston University in January 2011. He is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Case Center, Walter Brown Arena, Nickerson Field and Faneuil Pool. Cavanaugh served as the assistant manager of athletic facilities for Boston University since 2004.

Cavanaugh previously served as coordinator of sports promotions for the BU Department of Athletics, creating and implementing promotional events in order to increase attendance and excitement at Terrier Athletic events. He began his career in June 2000 as senior staff assistant for the marketing and promotions department, designing advertising and managing marketing collateral.

Prior to BU Athletics, Cavanaugh worked as an intern in the summer of 1999 for the Massachusetts Mad Dogs professional baseball club of the independent Northern League where he performed a variety of roles, including stadium sound effects and music director.

Cavanaugh received his bachelor's degree in May 2000 at Boston University's College of Arts and Sciences, where he majored in economics. In September 2007, he completed his master's degree in business administration at Boston University's Graduate School of Management, where he majored in marketing.

A native of Reading, Cavanaugh now resides in Brighton, Mass.
