Aly Hinton
Nov. 26, 2007 BOSTON - Sophomore Aly Hinton has been named the GoTerriers.com Student-Athlete of the Week, after averaging 16.0 points and 6.3 rebounds in three games last week. It is the first time this season Hinton has earned the distinction. On Monday, Nov. 19, Hinton tallied a career-high 35 points against cross-town rival Northeastern in 27 minutes of action. She was the first Terrier to score 30 or more points since Katie Meinhardt accomplished the feat on March 11, 2005. The Richboro, Pa., native followed it up with a 10-point performance against UNC Greensboro on 4-for-8 shooting on Nov. 23. Against North Carolina A&T the next day, she brought down seven boards and dished out two assists. Hinton is third on the team in scoring (10.8 ppg) and rebounding (6.3 rpg), while owning a team-high .957 (22-for-23) free-throw shooting percentage - good for second in the conference. |
