Senior Sarah Dalton has been named the 2009 Boston University women's lacrosse team MVP after a career that saw her set numerous program marks.
Dalton capped off a stellar career by shattering her own school record for goals in a season with 91 as a senior captain in 2009, while setting the school career goals and points marks with 247 and 284, respectively. The three-time Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-America selection led the Terriers to NCAA tournament berths in all four of her playing years and spearheaded her squad to four straight America East Conference championships. Other accolades include All-Region and All-Conference team nods in her final three seasons and being named conference Player of the Year as a junior and senior.
In 2009, Dalton was honored with the BU Terrier Pride Award and was named the Female Athlete of the Year for the State of Vermont. Dalton was also selected for the United States Lacrosse Developmental roster for the second straight year and will join the team on Oct. 11 in Alexandria,Va., for the fourth annual U.S. Lacrosse Stars and Stripes event.
