Senior Tahari James earned Most Valuable Player for the 2009 Boston University women's track team after completing her collegiate career with an All-American performance at the NCAA Outdoor Championships.

James finished seventh in the nation with a jump of 13.28m in the finals in Fayetteville, Ark. The Branford, Conn., native was previously named an All-American in the event in both the indoor and outdoor seasons last year.

James is the first Terrier to earn three career All-American accolades since 1995 and graduates from BU as the holder of the school long jump and triple jump records both indoors and outdoors.

She had a strong performance at the America East Championships in May, earning Most Outstanding Field Performer of the Meet honors. James defended her triple and long jump titles and was also a part of the winning 4x100m relay team
