The Terrier Twelve: No. 12 - Men's Soccer Defeats Brown
June 23, 2008 The Terrier Twelve - a countdown of the top 2007-08 moments for the Boston University Department of Athletics - begins with one of the Terriers' best regular-season wins of the year. Coming in at No. 12 is the men's soccer team's 1-0 defeat of then-No. 15 Brown on Oct. 2. It was the Bears' only loss of the regular season and the victory also helped the Terriers receive an NCAA at-large berth, marking their 12th trip to the national tournament. Freshman Aaron O'Neal scored the game's only goal - one of his team-high three game-winning goals on the year. He received a pass from sophomore Shaun Taylor, beat his defender and sent a wide open shot past Brown's diving keeper at 62:58, helping the Terriers earn their lone win over a ranked team in 2007. O'Neal had a breakout year for the Terriers in his inaugural campaign. The freshman led the team with six goals and four assists for 16 points. Twice named America East Rookie of the Week, he scored points in 9-of-19 matches, including a string of five straight games.
