The five-time national champion Terriers enter their 90th season with 39th-year head coach Jack Parker at the helm. Senior Chris Connolly will serve as team captain of a squad that returns its top seven scorers from a year ago in addition to standout senior goaltender Kieran Millan.

There are high hopes for the 2011-12 Terriers after they reached the Women’s Frozen Four championship game in just their sixth year as a varsity program. The team earned a program-best 27 victories in the 2010-11 campaign and returns four Hockey East All-Stars to this year’s roster.

Basketball Schedules

Boston University Set to Host Winterfest This Weekend
Jan. 26, 2012 BU will celebrate its annual Winterfest Weekend by hosting a whopping 10 sporting events over three days. Women’s track & field will kick things off at 2 p.m., on Friday with the Terrier Invitational at the BU Track and Tennis Center. The Terriers claimed first place in their opening meet of the season on Thursday. The men’s track & field team will host their Terrier Invitational on Saturday starting at 9 a.m. Sophomore Rich Peters is coming a mile time of 4:00.13, which is the top time in the NCAA so far this season. The No. 2 men’s hockey team will host Maine at Agganis Arena on Friday night at 7 p.m., and again on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. Men’s hockey is coming off a home-and-home sweep of Providence and holds a four-point lead over Boston College and Merrimack for first place in Hockey East. The BU wrestling team will be busy with two matches this Saturday against Bridgewater State (3 p.m.) and Duke (5 p.m.) at Case Gym. Senior Fred Santaite remains undefeated after winning all four of his matches at the CAA Duals last weekend to move to 8-0 on the year. The women’s hockey team, coming off a 6-0 win against No. 4 Boston College on Wednesday, will look for its third straight win when sixth-ranked Northeastern visits Agganis Arena for a 3 p.m. contest. The men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams will face Brown and Columbia starting at 1:30 p.m. at the Competition Pool.
