Case Gymnasium, otherwise known as "The Roof", has served as the home of Boston University basketball since 1972. It has an 1,800-seat capacity with theatre-sized chairback seats on both sides.

Appropriately, The Roof sits above Walter Brown Arena. Throughout its history, it has provided an intimidating home-court advantage.

The women's basketball program began play during the 1975-76 season, its first as a varsity program. Recording a 218-143 (.604) all-time record there, the women have enjoyed a winning home record in each of the past nine seasons. In 2007-08, for the first time in program history, the Terriers went undefeated, winning all 11 contests. They later hosted WNIT games in 2009 and 2010.

Having captured the 1997 and 2002 America East championships in Case Gym, the men have played a total of 299 games and have won 211 of them for a .706 winning percentage. Over the past ten years, the Terriers are an impressive 78-25 (.757) at The Roof. In 2010, they hosted their first-ever postseason game and defeated Morehead State to advance to the CBI semifinals.
